Sunset Message

The MotiNetwork will cease to exist March 31st, 2018
Google has done a wonderful job pulling the plug on all of our traffic, and at this point, the sites cost more to run in server resources than the income they bring in. Its been a hell of 10 year ride, but the time has come to sunset the network.

accepting that all the important parts are ridiculous is basically admitting it's a false religion though, not that they'd admit it.
Curlyrocks - May 1, 2013, 5:06 pm
I had a great conversation this morning with a Jehovah Witness that dropped by and we both agreed that god is not the man on the cloud. Almost no one believes that any more. But I do expect fundies to ignore the treaty of tripoly for their fantasy world.
PapaFox - May 1, 2013, 4:43 pm
Actually that would be the beliefs of Biblical literalists, like evangelicals, etc. Most Christians are not Biblical literalists.
Renza - May 1, 2013, 4:36 pm
Good luck trying to convince the religious types of that... most of them believe a bearded guy on a cloud made everything 5000 years ago and fit 2 of all animals on the planet into a small yacht while flooding the planet for a month... facts are useless

... all the others. In fact, that was the impetus behind Jefferson's Danbury letter, to a**ure the Danbury Baptists they would not be discriminated against just because of their denomination.
PapaFox - May 1, 2013, 4:01 pm
Curiously, reading through the material, it wasn't so much based on distrust of Christianity per se, but rather distrust between Christian denominations at the time. Each one wanted to make sure that no individual denomination had an advantage over ...

I'm not saying the treaty its self needs to stand, but it does give us a look at the level of separation of church and state the founding fathers intended for America. It clearly displays there intention that religion never get in the way of policy.

If you read the actual decision instead of the Summarized For Dummies version, you'll see it. http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/07-290.ZO.html
StoneTools - April 30, 2013, 7:36 pm
I don't see anything in the ruling that supports your bs. You can read (or have read to you) the following: http://www.lawnix.com/cases/dc-heller.html
PapaFox - April 30, 2013, 7:30 pm
You mean the part where they recognized that Second Amendment rights are subject to reasonable restrictions?

Homeland Security: Preparing for Massive Civil War - politics

What is government corruption? Government corruption at its roots is the fighting for the status quo within the body of government. The body of government is not something that the public can cut the head off of and expect it to be fixed. The problem runs much deeper than that. It is, as a whole, an evil mechanism. It is a fear of change to the status quo; corruption is bred through the lack of brave souls who feel empowered to speak out. The DHS has purchased enough ammunition over the last 10 months to wage a full-scale war in Iraq for almost 30 years. Such massive quantities of ammunition purchases are stoking strong suspicions that the DHS is preparing for some kind of domestic unrest. The federal agency’s primary concern is being centered around thwarting so called homegrown terrorism. Civil war is most likely coming to America, like it or not. We are standing at the fork in the road to our future and as a result have become a very divided nation. You either stand for freedom and liberty or you can choose tyranny and big government. Choose wisely.

Which of course proves precisely nothing, but it's a cool pic nonetheless.

A keeper. Sending this to my son. Whether you agree with the politics of gun control or not, this is undeniably a gut buster. Five stars
